  today, i heard my token sunday talk.. the brother somehow brought up the following:.

  "many are speculating that there are many changes coming soon...... including the end of preaching work....... well, just because the faithful and discreet slave has ended the weekly study weeting........... this does not mean that all other things will cease.

  journey-on, very interesting analysis... and I think you may have a valid assumption. Here's why:

  While it was not a Bible Study that started me thinking "something is not right", it was a return visit I had. It was the only door I ever went to that had a sign that said "No Solicitors -- UNLESS you're one of Jehovah's Witnesses or a Mormon".

  That guy invited me and my daughter in. I still don't remember all that we discussed over our two or three visits, but I kept getting backed into scriptural corners I couldn't answer, and he asked questions that made me think and question. Hmmm... I still remember what neighborhood he lived in. Maybe I should stop in and thank him!

  So, while I don't think the "preaching work" will end, per se, I think their MANNER of doing it might very well change.

  Went to the funeral of a dear old sister tonight... listened to the outline not only give the usual "preachy" talk about "her hope" and "what she'd want you to do", but... the speaker did "announce" this:

  "All of us who are going to survive Armageddon look forward to seeing her again... those who are "unrighteous", that is, who do not know and serve Jehovah, need to take steps now to learn about the True God, or risk never seeing her again."

  Nice. They invite "worldy relatives" to the funeral, then tell them they're not going to ever see their loved one again if they don't become JW's.

  There's quite a perspective problem with that plank and the animals on it. The bear's left paw is in the middle of this relatively narrow walkway, yet to the left we have:

  Noah, a female lion, a male lion (who's paw is nearly at the edge of the ramp), a BIG turtle whose left foot is AT the edge of the ramp...

  And yet we still have room for one more big turtle ... neck only, no feet, but there's NO WAY that work with the last turtle's shell....

  P.S.--Notice the crocodile under the ramp, waiting to eat the turtle when it falls off? :-)

  The CO gave example after example of young jws that left that got AIDS, committed suicide, were paralyzed by a drive by shooting, were depressed all the time, are unmarried and have 5 children by 5 different fathers, had no job, no money, no car even though they went to college, strung out on drugs and/or alcohol were living on the streets...I knew that these weren't the outcomes of jws that left.

  And the ones that stay get in trouble and get dragged into JC meetings....

  Yes, that part: with the kids sitting on the bench with him, and them saying how much better their life is because they are out of the world, and how the rest of the world is just "wasting their life with meaningless things....

  Many parts that resonated as familiar. My JW-wife watched it with me... I wonder if any parts seemed eerily similar to her?

  I didn't know there WAS any other version! I saw this version posted on a pilots' web board I frequent... first time I'd seen it, but boy did it ring close to home.
